Adding to its continually growing list of value-added offerings, MTI UK's contract friction welding facility has welcomed a new, state-of-the art CNC machine onto its shop floor.
The new CNC TM12i, built by Hurco, will enable MTI to complete more steps of the pre and post-machining processes in-house. The CNC provides accurate time calculations for machining, which can be used to better predict project timing. Ultimately, this feature will drive down costs and streamline the production process for customers across all industries.
Additionally, the Hurco TM12i further expands the in-house capabilities of MTI UK, enhancing the sub-contract production.
This CNC machine will serve as an additional in-house service to work in conjunction with a number of MTI friction welding machines.
In the past, some MTI customers would send off their components to at least one other machining facility before a part reached completion. Now, customers will be able to reap the benefits of having a one-stop-shop solution for the manufacturing of their product with pre and post-machining performed at the same location as their friction welding projects.
MTI doesn't just offer sub-contract friction welding services - we also provide a range of additional in-house processes to enhance the production of your components, including:
- Component & material weld development
- Weld trials and prototypes
- Destructive and non-destructive weld testing
- Pre and post-machining, (CNC, turning and milling operations)
- Heat treatment
- Flash removal (If applicable)
